Most of these additional bonus tracks have never been released.

The double CD includes a 26-page booklet with 51 rare photos from legendary photographer Ross Halfin & liner notes from Joe Elliott, which gives insights into the band during this '94-'95 time period.

A special iTunes Digital Edition will have everything from the Digital Edition, plus a further set of additional bonus tracks. A Double Vinyl Deluxe Edition will also be available and will feature the original album, and its own set of exclusive songs.

The band also released a special Slang Video Collection the same day (February 11th) exclusively on iTunes that feature videos from singles “Slang,” “Work It Out,” and "All I Want Is Everything."

Slang was first released in May 1996 and is considered the band’s most underrated album. At the time of its release, the music industry was at the height of the 90s grunge scene and Def Leppard with bands like Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots and Pearl Jam were dominating the airwaves. Despite this musical shift, Slang charted on the Top Five UK Official Chart and the Top 15 in the US on Billboard’s Top 200 Chart, plus the UK rock magazine Q named the project as one of the Top 10 Albums of the Year. As a testament to their music transcending through time, Slang was recognized for its musical departure from the band’s signature sound. The collection incorporated new sonic elements that gave the album a slightly darker introspective mood than their previous releases. As Phil Collen stated in an interview with Metal Hammer UK, “We've all got personal things that have happened during the recording of Slang, and we've just ploughed on and some of it has come out on the record.”

We've all got personal things that have happened during the recording of Slang, and we just ploughed on and some of it has come out on the record. Anyone who isn't a Def Leppard fan, you play it to them and they love it, Collen notes. They go, 'Wow, this is really cool. Who is it?' 'It's us,' and they go, 'Whoaaaa. This is really cool.' But, yeah, no one really heard it. There's the faithful few who absolutely love it and think it's the best Def Leppard album of all time, but it's a minority.

Slang may seem like the one album you'd least expect to get a deluxe edition as it's usually one known to hardcore fans, yet in this case, the band were granted back the rights to the masters from Virgin EMI (Mercury)/Universal and Jimmy Buffets indie label Mailboat now have the band in North America at least. It's also a chance to reintroduce an album that was derided at the time of the original release. It's more in line with the alternative scene prevalent in the mid-'90s but with an '80s name attached to it mainstream radio were apprehensive.
It's good to have some B-sides, covers and demos on here as I would never get a bootleg of those. A couple of them were on singles taken from Euphoria like Worlds Collide. We get a few tracks from Vivian Campbell as this was the first studio release that he was on.
If this is a new pattern being set I wonder if Euphoria and X could get reissued like this in future. Plenty of rare tracks to add to them as well so we'll just have to wait.
