On Monday morning I got a text that said: ‘Have you heard?’ Those are the three most hated words in my life. I’m used to them now. I know what they mean. So I looked at my emails: ‘David Bowie dead.’ I thought it was a hoax. Then I turned on the TV news and there it was, confirmed by Duncan, his son.

It was already a bad couple of weeks in January. We’ve had the thirtieth anniversary of Phil Lynott’s death, and the twenty-fifth anniversary of Steve Clark dying. Lemmy’s gone, and now Bowie.

Joe Elliott on his worst and best money decisions

It took Joe Elliott ten years to make serious money from being lead singer of rock band Def Leppard. Elliott used to sit in a pub with the other band members, sipping a single pint of beer between them because they were so hard-up.

The singer-songwriter grew up in a terraced house in Sheffield and left school to work in a local steel factory for £8 a week.

It was recently announced that Def Leppard will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame®. The band will be inducted into the 2019 Performer Category alongside The Cure, Janet Jackson, Stevie Nicks, Radiohead, Roxy Music and The Zombies. Presented by Klipsch Audio, the 2019 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame® Induction Ceremony will take place on March 29, 2019 in Brooklyn, NY at Barclays Center.

Following the close of their historic 2018 co-headline stadium and arena run in North America, Def Leppard sold a staggering 1,000,000 tickets and the tour grossed over $100,000,000.00, a massive feat in today’s touring world. As always, the group keep pushing forward with their electrifying live shows that have transcended the test of time.
